Weekly Update #78

1 minute read

Happy Saturday! It’s another scorcher out there, especially if you live in Dubai – the heat index is supposed to reach 150 degrees! Every week a new part of the world has a heat dome, it seems. Hope everyone is able to stay cool!

F1 is in Hungary this weekend. I’m just starting the qualifying session now, so I can’t give you any commentary on the placings. I think the only big news this week was that Esteban Ocon signed with Haas for next season. Seems like a decent move. He’s an ok racer but he needs an attitude adjustment like Yuki needed. There’s always hope!

I sent out five more queries last week like I said I would. I heard back from one agent (a rejection), so I’m still waiting on 14 more. (Hey, wake up!) It’s pretty annoying to go week after week with no answers, but that’s ok. Somehow life goes on!

My writing went only so-so this week. I finished my quota and I was happy with what I worked on, but it didn’t come out very easily. At this point I’m at 49k words (about half way), and while many consequential things have happened, it doesn’t feel like half way. Still have a lot of work to do, I think. This book might end up being quite a bit longer than I thought it would. (Which is ok.) The important thing is that I’m working on it every day. As long as you don’t give up, you’re guaranteed to finish (eventually).

Just as I’m writing this, Sergio Perez hit the wall in qualifying!! He totaled his car!! I think the chances of him remaining as the second RB driver just went down, down, down… The only question now is if Max can win the constructors by himself again ;)
