Weekly Update #80

1 minute read

Happy Saturday and happy August. Gosh, this summer has really flown by! The wildfire season is really starting to ramp up but so far we’ve been safe (crossing my fingers!). I’ve been absolutely binging on Olympics coverage so far. There’s a lot of great action but also a lot of drama. I think my favorite stories so far have been the viral memes about the two air pistol shooters Kim Yeji and Yusuf Dikec. I also have to give a shoutout to USA women’s rugby for their incredible bronze medal match and Adriana Ruano for achieving Guatemala’s first-ever gold medal!

It’s hard to believe a week has already passed! We wait four years and it just flies by.

I heard back from a couple of agents this week. Unfortunately they were both rejections but that’s ok! I’ll keep trying!

My writing went really well this week and I reached 61k words. I found a nice rhythm and had a lot to say which was a nice change from the previous couple of weeks. There is both a lot left to do but also not so much. Realistically I will probably end up writing another 40-50k words, so things have to move along towards the finale now. At the same time, there is still a lot left for the characters to do and say. I guess that’s a good problem to have though. If I had a lot of words left and nothing to say I’d be cooked!

I also had some ideas this week about future books. It’s never too soon to take notes and start planning for the future.
