Weekly Update #86

1 minute read

Happy Saturday and happy September and happy autumn. All the leaves are starting to change color and the air is crisp!

Football season might be underway, but F1 is still rolling along. This weekend they’re racing on the streets of Baku in Azerbaijan. The track has been very slippery and qualifying was a mess of accidents and screwups. A series of unfortunate events kept Lando from exiting Q1, while Alex Albon drove out of his garage with a giant cooling fan still attached to his car! Ferrari had most of the pace and I think Charles is the clear favorite to win the race tomorrow. Surprisingly Perez outpaced Max! I don’t know what that means for the car, but reversals always create excitement.

I received another rejection this week! I still have about 15 still out there, so there’s hope.

I reached 96k words this week. Things felt pretty good overall, especially in the last few days. I think the challenge now is to get to the ending in a reasonable amount of words. I’m feeling good about it, though. I don’t think there are any real problems, just the normal difficulties that require some ingenuity to solve. I’ll probably end up around the same word count as the previous book, so I think in two weeks I’ll be more or less at the end!
