Weekly Update #89
Happy Saturday (it’s almost Sunday actually)! Just finished watching a thriller of a football game, Oregon State vs. Colorado State. Wow! This is the kind of action I’ve been waiting for! I hope it is a sign of good things to come from all of these new Mountain West teams that are joining the Pac-12.
Just a reminder: my new book has been officially RELEASED.

As for my writing this week, I started editing the sequel. I maintained my normal 25 pages a day, so I completed 150 pages so far. Mostly I’m just trying to get a sense of how things stand and what will need to be changed. There’s not a whole lot of actual changes happening at the moment unless I’m 100% sure I will keep something and I think it could be better.
Overall there are some difficulties narrative-wise, but there are also some really great passages that I was happy to re-discover. In a couple more weeks I’ll have a complete set of notes to guide me through the second draft, which is where most of the work will be.
I’ve been reading this book called “The Writing Life” by Annie Dillard. It begins with a quotation from Goethe:
Do not hurry; do not rest.
That pretty much sums it all up. If you just keep at your work you can’t help but succeed (eventually).
