Weekly Update #119

1 minute read

Happy Saturday! Temperatures are slowly creeping up and summer is approaching!

And yet, it’s raining again today.

Speaking of rain, F1 is back in Miami this weekend and the track is drenched. They couldn’t even begin the sprint because there was so much rain. Oscar Piastri said it was the worst conditions he’s ever seen! The forecast looks alright for this afternoon when they have the qualifying session, but tomorrow there are thunderstorms in the forecast! Should be an electrifying race.

Congrats to the Minnesota Timberwolves for defeating the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs. They will play either the Rockets or the Warriors in the next round. As for that series, it’s looking like the Rockets will come back from 3-1 down to win. It’s currently tied 3-3! The other exciting matchup is the Nuggets/Clippers. It’s also going to a game 7!

I finished the first draft of part 1 of my next book this week! I’m moving onto editing now. So far I’ve finished 75 pages (out of 250ish). I’m more or less just reading it through and making notes. I haven’t read anything I don’t like, but there are some areas where further explanations will help. On the whole I think it’s good though. Some sections are great even. I just need to focus on the weaknesses and improve them so that the whole thing is great.

This week I’m reading “The Parable of the Talents” graphic novel. It’s based on a novel by Octavia Butler. It’s uncanny how accurately it depicts the current conflicts we face today, although some of it is a bit too on the nose and I wonder if the writers adapted some of the material to our times instead of staying as true as possible. (I haven’t read the original novel.)
