Weekly Update #148
Happy Saturday! It’s relatively warm and dry so I can’t complain, but there’s a thick fog covering everything. It’s like the setting of an old English novel.
Lots happening in the sports world this week.
The WNBA made a new offer to the players’ association that ups the minimum salary to around 250k and the max to over 1m. So far the players don’t seem impressed because it doesn’t include revenue sharing like players in the NBA get. They still have 10 days until they need to find an agreement, make another extension, or go to a lockout.
College football is gettin close to the playoffs now. There are only two weeks left until the end of the season! This year the playoffs have grown from 4 teams to 12. Teams near the cutoff are really trying hard to make their case, but there are no doubt going to be some sore losers. As long as Oregon loses I’m happy.
F1 is in Las Vegas this week. I haven’t caught any of it so far because it’s on late my time and I don’t feel like staying up for it. Oh well. Lando led the qualifying by over three-tenths (which is a lot). Max is second and Oscar is pretty far back. It’s looking like it’s Lando’s to lose.
I finally got the proofs in for my new book. I’ll do one last check tomorrow and then publish it. After that I’m going to take a few days off and then start on the next book. I have some ideas already so I just need to pick one, do some outlining, and then get writing.
Have a great rest of your weekend and week,
SB
