Weekly Update #150
Happy Saturday and happy weekly update number one-hundred and fifty! Wow! That’s a long time! I honestly didn’t know if I’d even finish one book, or two, but here I am. Somehow all along I figured I would be able to find a job somewhere, too, but that hasn’t happened either. I’ve been really happy with the books I’ve written so far and I guess for now I’ll just keep going. After all, there isn’t much else to do! There aren’t any job opportunities anymore unless you know someone and you’re lucky and I don’t know anybody and I’m unlucky! Overall, being a full-time self-employed writer has been an exciting journey. I just need to figure out how to make it work in the long-term. I’ll definitely figure it out in the next year… right? Right?!
Congratulations to JaMarcus Shephard for getting hired as the head coach of OSU Beavers football! His press conference had some great quotes and I’m excited for his tenure. He has a great attitude and I can’t wait to see what he accomplishes.
There’s a new update on the WNBA CBA negotiations: they extended the deadline until January 9. The sticking points right now are player housing and the season dates. Apparently the league wants to start earlier in the year, which would interfere with the NCAA tournament and mess up the draft. Honestly the league management is its own worst enemy. I can’t understand how they can screw this up so badly. Just keep everything the same and pay the players more. Teams are being sold for hundreds of millions of dollars but you can’t pay the players more than 70k? It’s such a farce.
This is a BIG WEEKEND for F1. McLaren completely screwed up last week and now this week it’s down to a three-way battle for the driver’s championship. Whoever wins is winning it all. I know that Max can handle this pressure, but I don’t think Oscar can and I’m not sure about Lando. My money is on Max, but who knows! Watch and find out.
I started working on my new book this week. Mostly just outlining and researching some relevant topics. Next week (tomorrow) I’ll be starting to write for real.
Remember, my new book is out now! Go buy it here.
See you next week,
SB
