Weekly Update #152

Happy Saturday! It might be cold outside but the sun is shining and we survived another atmospheric river. Whew! It rained for two days straight and we had two big wind storms too. It was really miserable and I’m glad it’s over and gone.

A few sports updates this week.

The WNBA player’s association voted to strike if there isn’t a deal made by January 9th. The two sides seem far away still so it looks like that’s where we’re headed. Previous offers made by the league have been pretty bad for the players and didn’t offer any real concessions. Every time they offer the players more in one area, they take something away from another.

The college football playoffs are starting this weekend. Alabama beat Oklahoma to move on yesterday, and Miami beat Texas A&M to move on this morning. The big one for me is Oregon, who plays this afternoon. I hope they lose, but I also hope they win so they can lose later in the tournament. It’s win-win.

My writing went well this week. I met my quota every day to finish the week at 12k words. I didn’t really struggle and the story is unfolding smoothly. I don’t have it 100% planned out but I have the general arc in my head and that’s what I’m sticking to. I really have no idea it’s going to end up being, but I guess I’ll aim for around 100k since that’s a good length.
