Weekly Update #53

Happy Saturday. Hallelujah, the ice is gone! Except that it’s raining now! Except it’s sunny for the moment. Who knows what it will look like in the next hour.

Started watching a new show this week: “True Detective Season 4” (Night Country). I haven’t watched any of the other seasons, but luckily it’s like Fargo and each season is a distinct narrative. So far I’m really enjoying it. It stars Jodie Foster and Kali Reis as two detectives trying to solve a case of missing/dead scientists, which itself is tied to a cold case the two of them worked on before. The acting and casting are spot on. Great characters. After two episodes my early rating is an “A”.

I reached a milestone in my new book this week: 50k words. That’s about 175 pages so far. I think I’m going to go to around 300 and then try to wrap it up. I probably won’t finish the whole story, so that means only one thing: there may be a part 2. No promises either way. These are just preliminary thoughts. I think I could add around 50 pages to the main narrative and then 50 pages of extra content to fill out the setting and characters and call it a day. I’m already happy with it and it can only go up.

Big weekend for football fans. Hoping for a Ravens v. Lions superbowl, but all the teams that are left are exciting and deserving. I wish that Lamar could win and that the Lions could win, but I guess I will just have to hope that one of them wins!!
