Weekly Update #95
Happy Saturday! It’s been frigid this week and most day it was pouring rain. When will summer return??
Today I’m a Wisconsin football fan, hoping that they can upset Oregon’s perfect season. Since the college football playoffs have been expanded I don’t think there is any way for Oregon to get knocked out completely at this point, but one can pray. As long as they don’t win the national championship then I can say it was a great season. Kickoff is at 4:30 PST.
No F1 this weekened, but next weekend they are in Vegas.
Editing went well this week. I finished another 120 pages which puts me around 360/420 finished for this draft. It’s been going very smoothly since none of the problems are in the second half and all it requires is some polish here and there. As usual, I’ve been making detailed notes about where things could be improved. I’ve come up with some great ideas that will tie everything together and give the work the glue that it needs to gel. In the next draft I won’t be doing a straight read-through, but instead referring to my notes and attacking each weakness relentlessly until there are no more todo items in the list.
I’ll probably end up finishing everything no later than the end of December, but I have decided to publish on a six-month schedule now, so expect the book out in February. (I’m aiming for Valentine’s Day.)
On my reading list, I’m currently half-way through “Gravity’s Rainbow” by Thomas Pynchon. Expect a review when I finish.
Peace and much love,
SB
