Weekly Update #115

Happy Saturday! Week-by-week the warmer weather is starting to return! Just kidding – the whole forecast is 50 degrees and rain! I got out to do some yardwork yesterday in the bit of sunshine we did have, but it’s all we’re getting for some time. Yuck!

F1 is in Suzuka, Japan this weekened. I’m watching the qualifications as I type this, so I can’t tell you who will be on the pole position. But I can tell you that Yuki is driving well so far, much better than Liam was racing in the Red Bull last week and the week before.

I also had a chance to watch the Women’s Final Four last night. South Carolina and UConn moved on to the finals. I think this was basically the expected result, as it has been for the last 5-10 years. It should be a great finals.

The men’s Final Four is tonight, starting around 3pm pacific. The first game is Florida vs Auburn and the game after is Houston vs Duke. Based on what I’ve seen, it will probably be Auburn and Duke going through. I’m excited to see the games either way though.

After the Final Four will be the NBA playoffs, and after that the WNBA starts again. It’s an exciting time to be a sports fan.

Anyway, on to my writing. I met my quota, which puts me at 49k words total. Still feeling good about the story. Considering I’m expecting this book to be on the longer side, I’m thinking about publishing it in two parts of about 70k words each. Maybe a bit more. My aim is to publish something every 6 months, and if the book goes on too long I might not make it. We’ll see. In any case, progress is going well.

Didn’t hear back from any agents or applications. One employer did actually acknowledged that they received my application which is better than most.

I looked at employment numbers to see what jobs would have highest expected potential growth into the future and my job was in the top five so I guess I’m just unlucky right now. It gives me hope that there will be more opportunities going forward. I’d rather not have to completely retrain for something else!
