Weekly Update #116

Happy Saturday! The sun is shining and the weather forecast is looking good! Not just here but also in Bahrain, where the F1 race is this weekend. They reached a peak of 120 degrees F before the race. Yikes! McLaren was at the top of the early practice sessions, but as I write this the qualification round is yet to start. After Max’s racing last weekend, I’m still hopeful that Red Bull has a chance to make it a competition this season.

This week I finished reading “The First”, a book written by a guy I met in one of my gaming circles. You can check it out on Amazon here! If you liked “Underworld” you’ll like it.

Now I’m reading “The Mercy of Gods” by James Corey. They (it’s two guys who write together) were the authors who wrote “The Expanse”. Since I started writing full time, it’s been interesting to read books with an eye towards not just the story telling but the writing itself. You never know if you can learn something or find some new perspective on your own work.

Speaking of which, my own writing is going well. I ended this week at 55k words. Most of this week was on one scene that I think I’m happy with overall. A lot of details will come together to a peak in the next 20k words, and I’m going to do my best to make it as exciting as possible.
