Weekly Update #117
Happy Saturday! We had a week of great weather, not too warm, not too cold, and I finally got some nice work done on the garden. The weeds have been cleared (mostly), the blackberry bushes are getting uprooted, and the mulch is going down. Woohoo!
Last Monday was the WNBA draft. Lots of great talent coming into the league and lots of amazing styles on display. Shout outs to Paige Bueckers for being selected the first overall pick. Can’t wait to see her play for the Dallas Wings!
This weekend is the last weekend of the F1 triple-header. They are racing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the fastest track on the circuit. Watching the drivers speed 5cm near the edge of a corner, maximizing every inch of the track, has been incredible so far. Qualifying is starting right now so I can’t give you an update yet. Based on the practice session I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s McLaren one-two again.
The new season of “The Last of Us” began last week. I really enjoyed the first episode and it inspired me to try the game that it’s based on. What I’ve found most surprising is how closely the plots between the two matches. It’s almost exactly the same, scene for scene! The biggest difference is that show goes into a lot more detail on the character stories and their relationships. I think that gives the show a leg up.
I met my writing quota for this week. Currently standing at 61k words. I’m feeling warmer about my idea of stopping around 75k and publishing that part of the story standalone. Trying to balance and remember 150k words at once while editing is going to be pretty difficult I think. Plus it’s nice to have some time to go back over what’s already been completed and make sure I’m happy with the direction and plot before I keep going.
Nothing much else to report!
Have a good week!
