Weekly Update #135

1 minute read

Happy Saturday! Summer might be receding, but that doesn’t mean the hot weather has gone with it! Temps yesterday reached almost 100! Sheesh.

The WNBA season is close to wrapping up now. Only 7 or 8 games left and then we head into the playoffs. The teams are more or less separated into three groups: Minnesota at the top, then the next four teams all within one game apiece, and then next six. The six are battling for three spots so things are really going to heat up these last few weeks. Every victory counts now!

F1 is coming back next week. The only real news is that Cadillac, debuting their team in 2026, has finally signed two drivers: Sergio Perez and Valteri Bottas. They are both solid drivers. Maybe they won’t be competing for a championship, but you really can’t go wrong with either of them. They are proven and as long as the car is good they’ll be fine. Can’t wait!

I finished my quota for writing this week, putting me at 29k words. Somehow I had my math wrong and thought I needed to end around 30k, but actually 35k is the “end” of the next part of the story. I was really glad when I realized this because I need those extra words to ensure everything ends satisfactorily. I suppose I would have just continued on anyway, but still, it’s nice to have a plan and stick to it.

The story isn’t going exactly where I thought it would, but it’s still heading to a good place. I’m happy with it and that’s all that matters.
