Weekly Update #143

1 minute read

Happy Saturday! The sun might be shining, but the temperatures are cooling. The high has only been around 60 degrees recently, and I’m sure it will only go down from there. Once the leaves fall it will really feel like autumn.

Well, the OSU Beavers football is really in the dumps. After shuffling our special teams coaching, we lost another game, putting us at 0-7, so the athletic director went nuclear and fired the head coach. He promised a full review of the program, but obviously it’s too late for this year. At this point any victory this season will be a tremendous achievement. RIP.

Now that the W is over, I’ve been checking out some baseball. The Mariners and the Blue Jays are locked in a tight series that’s been very exciting to watch. Last night the Mariners won with a grand slam late in the game after it was tied 2-2. The other series was the Brewers vs the Dodgers, but the Dodgers were just too good and won 4-0. Shohei Ohtani played one of the best games ever played last night, striking out 10 batters and hitting 3 home runs. He was just incredible. Truly one of the all-time greats.

My writing went well this week. I did reach my ultimate goal of 70k words, but I haven’t quite finished. I probably need another 2-3k. Anyway, I’m close to the end, which is exciting. I feel good about the story: where it started and where it’s ended. I don’t think there’s very much to edit, so I’m only imagining a couple of more drafts. I’ll give you more info next week.
