Weekly Update #144

1 minute read

Happy Saturday. I woke up this morning to pouring rain… which is the same thing I woke up to the last three days! We’re really in it now. I’m going to hibernate and I’ll see you in April.

The NBA started this week. Victor Wembanyama put on a clinic in the first game, dropping 45 points and 19 rebounds. He was playing the Dallas Mavericks who had the number one overall pick, Cooper Flagg. Cooper got a double-double, but he was basically a non-factor. He had a few good alley-oop moments that he completely botched, so I’m not impressed so far. Hopefully he shows us something soon, otherwise I guess he was just a highlight machine based on him playing easy teams in the ACC.

In the WNBA, the only real news is the coaching carousel. Sandy Brondello is headed to Toronto (allegedly), who has an expansion team called the Tempo launching next year. I thought she might go to Dallas to coach Paige, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Dallas has instead hired Jose Fernandez who has coached USF for the last 25 years. Portland also hired a coach, Alex Sarama, who was an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers. I’m not so sure about this one, but we’ll see. That leaves only two openings: Seattle and NY.

F1 is in Mexico this weekend. I love this course so I’ll try to check it out. Qualifying hasn’t happened yet so I can’t give you any updates.

I finished the first draft of my book this week! I immediately started editing, and I’ve completed about 60/260 pages so far. I’m only managing about 10-15 pages a day which is a lot less than my usual 25, but it’s what it is. I can only do what I can do.

So far it’s all going well. Mostly just taking notes and fixing ugly sentences and things like that. Also deleting any content that I don’t like or doesn’t fit. I don’t think this book is going to require a lot of work in editing which is great. Let me tell you, it’s a real weight off my shoulders.

Have a great week!
