Weekly Update #55
Well, here we are again. The NFL season is over and all we have left is the Super Bowl. I’m really sad that both my teams lost, but Mahomie is just a next-level football player and the 49ers are an amazing team so I can’t really be unhappy. I think all the teams in the top four were really deserving of getting that far so congrats to them for a great season. Color-wise, of course, the worst scenario happened. It’s just red everywhere on both sides. I doubt I’ll know who is winning at any moment. I’ll just have to believe what the score says at the end!
This week my writing went pretty well. Some of the essential conflicts are finally getting some more space to breathe and we’re starting to get a clearer sense of the book’s themes and the direction of the main action. I haven’t been feeling any pressure to wrap things up or get to the climax which is nice. I have felt that way before and in the end I left feeling like I did everything I could but that I could have done more. I’ll take it as a sign of learning. I’m not beating myself up about it. After all, you can only do what you can do. Right now I’m at 62k words.
F1 is starting to ramp up. There was no news for months and then suddenly in a week we had like 3 scandals and nonstop media coverage on every topic imaginable. Except for the team formerly-known-as-Toro-Rosso-which-is-now-called-something-I-can’t-remember, every team’s livery is just black with some highlights. I know who I’m rooting for: Danny Ric and Yuki! The season starts on March 1 in Bahrain.
Ok, I’m going walking! The sun is shining!
