Weekly Update #137

Happy Saturday. The hot weather is finally receding and fall is dawning. Temperatures have dropped by twenty degrees and the rain clouds are already forming.

It’s Week 2 of college football. Last week had some great matchups and we started to get some idea of who is good and who ain’t. THE Ohio State is looking like they will repeat. Texas looked bad but they bounced back today with a huge win over somebody. Oregon State got badly beaten but maybe we’ll bounce back today. One can hope.

The WNBA ends its season this coming Friday. We learned that Caitlin Clark isn’t coming back for the rest of the season. I think most fans already believed this, but now we have confirmation. The Fever are still battling for a spot in the playoffs, but they have a good chance. If they win one of their two remaining games or LA loses one then they’re in. They don’t have a great seed and they have a lot of injuries so I’m expecting them to go out in the first round. Maybe next year.

F1 is back in Monza, Italy this week. Max managed to pull off the pole position, but I’m sure that McLaren is still favored to win.

My writing continued as usual this week. I’ve finished 41k words (out of approximately 75k). Things are going well. I’m into the last part of the book and the story as a whole, so it’s all about building up to a climax and then writing a satisfying conclusion. At my current pace I should finish the first draft around the first week of next month. Depending on how editing goes, I guess we are looking at a release date around Halloween.
