Weekly Update #142
Happy Saturday! I heard that it’s hot and sunny down south, but here it is cold and drizzly. It’s honestly a nice change, and it’s nice to wake up and feel cozy when it’s cold and wet outside. And yet, I’m sure I’ll be tired of it by next week!
Congratulations to the Las Vegas Aces for winning the WNBA championship! They swept Phoenix 4-0 on the back of A’ja Wilson’s dominant performance. It really wasn’t even close ever. It’s really a testament to the adjustments they made at the beginning of August. They started the season 14-14 and then went on a 24-3 run and crushed the playoffs. Amazing!
My OSU Beavers football hasn’t won a game yet, but never fear, we fired our special teams coordinator. I mean, at least it’s something. We really suck though.
F1 is back next weekend. McLaren won the team championship last weekend so now it’s a battle for the driver’s championship. Lando and Oscar got a bit heated last race so I’m expecting a cuthroat battle.
I recently finished reading “Wild Thing” by Sue Prideaux, a biography of the painter Paul Gaugin. It’s a really wonderful book that details everything you’d ever want to know and more. I was really moved by the whole thing, which is written in an accessible style that will keep you hooked. If you’re interested, here is my affiliate link to the book on Amazon: Wild Thing (If you buy through the link, I’ll get a small cut.)
My writing went well this week. I’m only a week away from finishing the first draft now and it’s definitely feeling like the end is near. I’ve been dwelling in this world for so long and honestly I’m getting a bit exhausted, but it was always planned to be my longest work and I’m excited to finally bring it all together.
Stay tuned!
